The LBCC Shuttle has served more than 6,000 students since its debut in January 2009. From the data provided by Spring 2008 ASB Vice President John Kindred, in March, 2,863 students rode the shuttle. "I am really happy to hear that this shuttle is helping many students. I feel like my hard work for this project has come true," Kindred said.

The shuttle seats 24 students, but the data shows that students using it throughout March outnumbered the available seating.

Glen Hockett, a computer science major and a shuttle commuter, said, "I take the shuttle Monday through Thursday. The shuttle is really helpful since it gives me an option to take classes on both campuses."

Service for the shuttle will be available for Spring and Fall semesters only, Monday through Thursday, but the times for the Fall have changed.

Dr. Byron Breland, dean of Student Affairs, said, "The first ride from PCC to LAC will change from 7 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. and so the last shuttle changes from 4 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., giving an extra half an hour for late riders."

LBCC has a three-year trial contract with Diversified Transportation Company. The ASB and the Community College District have reserved $60,000 for the next three years for the shuttle system. After the three-year span, the shuttle system will be re-evaluated by the District and the ASB to determine if it should be continued.
