"I was very surprised and extremely happy when I heard my name," Brown said as friends congratulated her and snapped photos in front of Veteran's Stadium, which served as the Homecoming Court's final stop after it left the field at halftime on Saturday, Nov.

California preps for "the big one"

Evacuation activity scheduled with hopes of saving lives.
On Thursday Nov. 13, LBCC will be participating in the Great California ShakeOut. The purpose of the ShakeOut is to practice earthquake response in the event of an emergency, beginning at 10 a.m. No signals will be given, however, buildings A,E,F,G,H and P at the LAC will be evacuated.

Changes integrate offices and duties

New plan to re-establish position of Dean of Career and Technical Education.
In a May 16 message to his colleagues, LBCC Superintendent-President, Eloy O. Oakley communicated a reorganization plan to, "effectively align the college's resources and talent to best support the goal of improving student success and enhancing the learning environment…" In the same message, Oakley said the intentions of the reorganization are, "not intended to displace any faculty or classified employees.
