The Viking men's soccer team lost, 4-2, to Mt. San Antonio in a South Coast Conference game Tuesday, Oct. 7 at the LAC Soccer Field.

The loss to the Mounties, ended the Vikes 12-game undefeated streak and dropped them to 9-1-3 and 2-1-0, while Mt. SAC improved to 7-2-2 and 1-1-1. Ball possession was distributed evenly in the first 20 minutes of the first half. In minute 28, the Mounties scored the opening goal from a free kick 30 yards away from the Viking goal. Mt. SAC's Victor Cardenas, put the ball through the top right corner.

After much effort, LBCC managed to get the ball in the Mounties' 18-yard box where Viking Warwick Newbold scored. In the second half, the Mounties sealed the game with goals by Spencer Jones and Joe Davis in the first 5 minutes.

Glen O'Gara scored LBCC's second goal assisted by Pedro Chavez in minute 77. LBCC's fate was sealed when Mt. SAC scored an unintentional penalty shot in the 90th minute.

"We waited for them to score on us twice before we played with heart," said defender Jose Caniz.

The Vikings are scheduled to play at L.A. Harbor on Friday, Oct. 10 at 6 p.m.
