Athletes take 16th

LBCC athletics finished 16th among 108 schools in the 2007-2008 Pepsi/NATYCAA, National Alliance of Two-Year College Athletic Administrators Cup.
Last year, the Vikings came in 9th. LBCC took the Pepsi Cup crown in 2005-2006.
The Pepsi Cup ranks are determined by the final standings in each sport for California Community Colleges.
All games results and statistics that are compiled after conference play are tallied and entered into the standings.
Fresno City won the Pepsi Cup for 2007-2008. They finished with 164 points.
Local Viking rival Cerritos came in a close second with 160 points. Sierra came in third with 159.
LBCC ended up with 85 points. The Vikings' women's water polo team racked up the most points with 18, after coming in third in the state championships.
Other teams that contributed to the final total include men's water polo, men's golf, men's track, men's volleyball, women's softball and women's swimming.
