When the lights were shut off and the stage curtains slid open, I didn't know what to expect from the annual Spring Dance Ensemble on Friday, May 2 at the LAC Auditorium.
Being a novice to the world of dance, set design and choreography had its advantages and disadvantages.
Qualifiers go to the So Cal preliminaries in Bakersfield on May 3 and May 5.

LBCC Fashion department will host its 32nd annual fashion show Thursday, May 22 at 7:30p.m.
Program director Pamela Knights and the fashion production class organized the show. This years theme will be Masterpiece Runway.
"The idea behind the theme was inspired by great masters of art," Knight said.
The first Photo Festival at LBCC at the PCC brought a number of college and high school students as well as enthusiasts from April 16-17 and 19 for the student photo contest.
With the diversity of people who sat in folding chairs listening to lessons and advice from professionals in their trade the opportunity to learn or enjoy photography was taken.
