Sure, you borrow a pen

Students need to be responsible and bring their own supplies
In the middle of zoning out during lectures and class work, sometimes a parasite nearby will ask if they can "borrow" some type of school supply. By the end of class, there is nothing in sight when I look in the direction the parasite was sitting. There goes one from my 99-cent pack of pens.

'Promise' pact is empty

With the recent announcement of the "Long Beach College Promise," it seems that Long Beach school officials have put together a solid plan to make higher education available to all students, regardless of income, educational or career goals. On the surface, the program sounds like a groundbreaking initiative to give every Long Beach student a chance to learn beyond their K-12 years if they so choose.

Security breach must be addressed

The stealing of 40 employees' personal information from the district's computer system allegedly by an employee is a scary crime that has all of us worried. Shallan Tunupopo, a cashier in the LAC fiscal operations and payroll, and Michelle Hernandez of Long Beach were arrested Thursday, April 17 by the Long Beach Police Department.
