Upon reviewing bids, the LBCC Auxiliary Board will make a decision between May 5-9 regarding an exclusive five-year renewable contract with Pepsi or Coca-Cola.
The companies presented their bids to the committee Monday, April 21, Bookstore Director Marty Wayland said, Tuesday, April 29.
"We had three students on hand. Two at-large and one recommended from the Associated Student Body," Wayland said.
The committee decision will be based on sponsorship, product mix, service and commission.
The company chosen will receive exclusive rights at all on campus locations.
Food court manager David Corral said the only drawback with choosing Coke is that people are familiar with Pepsi products.
LBCC currently has a contract with Pepsi.
Student Matt Sun said, "I think it is a shame that our school has to choose between two products that are in no way, shape or form healthy."
