Viking boxer becomes national champ

LBCC's Dorian Anthony captured the men's national boxing championship Friday, March14. He is working towards the 2012 Olympic Games. In the 178-pound range, Anthony fought as a light heavyweight. Anthony was victorious in all of his bouts in Colorado.

Men and women take third

Men and women take third
LBCC's men's and women's track and field teams each took third place in the meets at the LAC field Friday, April 4. The men finished third among six teams. El Camino won the event and Cerritos took second. Bryan Brahman took first place in the men's javelin throw.

Baseball hits the airwaves

LBCC's campus radio station KLBC.org has successfully broadcasted three baseball games. KLBC will continue to cover the games Thursday April 10 vs. Compton at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, April 12 vs. El Camino at 12 noon, Saturday, April 19 vs. Mt. San Antonio at 12 noon, Tuesday, April 22 vs.

LBCC wins tennis championship

LBCC wins tennis championship
LBCC freshman Courtney Petero won the South Coast Conference tennis championship to keep her No. 1 seed at the LAC tennis center Friday, April 18. Petero played with high intensity through the tournament, losing only 6 sets of the 54 she played. In women's doubles, Petero and freshman, Kim Stern took the championship when they defeated Cerrito's Annika You and Sonia Gutierrez, 6-3, 6-0.

Fans enjoy mania

The eyes of many students and members of the sports media were tuned into Orlando, Fla. as World Wrestling Entertainment presented its 24th incarnation of its biggest event of the year, Wrestlemania in March. The event featured 10 matches, including three title matches.
