An evacuation drill was held at the PCC on Wednesday, March 12 to practice evacuations of buildings on campus in case of a real emergency.

The drill took place at 10 a.m. with the AA, BB, DD, and EE buildings taking part in the exercise. The other buildings will hold similar drills next month.

There is no plan at this time for a drill at the LAC.

On March 26, a simulated shooting will be held at the campus.

Lt. Julie Prior of the LBCC police said, "Once the bell was sounded everybody started evacuating. It was great to see the instructors taking an active role and leading the students out to the designated areas."

LBCC student Evelyn Howe said, "Its important to practice so people know what to do. I just followed people, I did not know where to go. There should be one each semester so new students know what to do."

Student Iidae Lewis also said, " Its very important that people be knowledgeable of what to do in case of an emergency."

"We could have done it a little faster, but I think we did a real good job," said Prior.

The Risk services Committee will meet on Friday March 15, to get feedback and discuss where improvement is needed.
