"I felt very confident before the fight. I had fought him three times before. I had trained so hard getting ready for the nationals," Anthony said.
Anthony has competed in the L.A. Golden Gloves tournament four times and has come out on top each of the four.
"That night I had a lot of fans. I felt pumped when I heard my name and heard the crowd cheer."
Anthony is in Colorado competing in the U.S. Men's national tournament. The top four qualifiers in each weight class will make the men's national team for the 2008 summer olympics in Beijing, China.
In the 178 pound range, Anthony is fighting as a light heavyweight.
So far, Anthony has been victorious in all three of his bouts in Colorado. In the first round, he defeated Rodney Ellison of the Air Force. The final scorecard showed a 17-4 win for Anthony.
"Ellison was ok, but the biggest thing was fighting the altitude. Being from California, I only had one day to adjust. I was really fighting myself."
In the second round, Anthony beat Andrew Hernandez of Phoenix. The fight was stopped in the second round when a blow from Anthony dislocated Hernandez's elbow.
"He was a real tough opponent. He hit me hard in the first round and made me wobble a bit" Anthony said.
In the third fight, Anthony squared off with Thomas Williams of Laurel, Md. He was victorious, 9-7.
"He was a very slick south-paw. He's really fast like me. It was really close," Anthony said.
The finals will be Friday, March 14.
Anthony will compete in the L.A. Golden Gloves state championship tournament later in March.

Since this guy has won 4 consecutive Golden Gloves championships, it sounds like he has a chance of winning a gold medal in the Beijing Olympics. China does not produce good boxers. (Continued…)
