Marley legacy lives on at annual music festival

The 27th year of the Ragga Muffins Festival has been presented in the City of Long Beach. The festival features an average of 20 artists spread out over a two-day event and is deemed one the largest reggae festivals in the U.S. The festival, popularly coined as "Bob Marley Day," is held around the late Marley's Feb.

Rocky Horror Picture Show leaves Long Beach

An audience of over 200 was witness to the last performance of the Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Queen Mary on Saturday, Feb. 9. The show, presented by theater company Midnight Insanity, has been running at the Queen Mary Theatre for a year and a half. Although Seligman has offered telescope open houses since 1974, the open houses have definitely changed. Students stitched together new fashion design and showed clothing collections in the presence of designer Nony Tochterman in the Auditorium on Dec. 19. The showing of clothing designs was the final projects for fashion design students. It brought a crowd of local high school students aspiring to become fashion majors.

LBCC 's fat tuesday

Mardi Gras will provide the rare opportunity to dress up, eat large amounts of food, listen to music and participate in a centuries old tradition. Mardi Gras is the day before Ash Wednesday, and may also be recognized as, "Shrove Tuesday." It marks the end of carnival and the festival season before lent, which is always 47 days before Easter.
