With a two-game sweep of Grossmont in the regional playoffs, the LBCC baseball team has earned a date with Santa Ana in the super-regionals.
In the second, and deciding game of the best-of-three first round series, LBCC defeated Grossmont, 10-8, in an extra inning affair at Joe Hicks Memorial Field on Saturday, May 9.
After a season with high team expectations heading into state championship contention, the LBCC women's softball team ended its season after losing two games of a three-game set to L.A. Mission in the Southern California Regional Series on Saturday, May 2 and Sunday, May 3.
Since before she could remember, Mieke Howell has been swimming. Her competitive career started in club leagues at the age of 10. At 13, she transitioned into playing water polo, achieving several MVP awards throughout the club leagues.
Shortly after, she swam two years at Millikan High School.
The LBCC Men's Volleyball team has its eyes set on the postseason. With a win at Santa Barbara on Wednesday, April 1, the Vikings clinched a spot in the playoffs.
The Vikings have been led this season by sophomores Antwain Aguillard , Casey Bennett, Chuck Chamberlain and Dane Mulligan.
With a small squad on hand, the Vikings Track and Field team still posted a strong performance at the Southern California Regionals on Saturday, May 2, at Mt. Sac College.
LBCC had four athletes on hand for the regional meet and three were able to qualify for the upcoming State Finals on Friday, May 15 and Saturday the 16 at San Mateo College.
In addition to winning the South Coast Conference title and representing LBCC in the Super Regional tournament, the Viking dugout has one more reason to celebrate.
