ongresswoman Linda Sanchez visited the LAC and the PCC on Friday, May 9.

Sanchez spoke to Mario Cordero's political science class. She attended the vocational awards ceremony at PCC as she learned more about the vocational and career programs.

She is serving her third term in the House of Representatives and is the first Latina to be on the Judiciary Committee.

She is also the first woman to serve as chair of the subcommittee on Commercial and Administrative Law.

Sanchez has helped to keep funding for President Bush's "No Child Left Behind Act." She also works to keeps classrooms safe and increase after school programs for children.

She has raised money for libraries and after-school recreation. She wants children to have a safe place to go after school.
