I would like to offer a rebuttal to Kallayan Thuch's March 13 commentary, "Sorry, furballs, people need to be help first." Of course, people need to be helped when ravaged by brutality, war, disease, or famine. Why would anyone question those situations? But, animals that need help should be given equal compassion and assistance.
